Mitsubishi surprise gift

Wow! A Japanese representative from Mitsubishi turned up at the tunnel with this gift for us! She said the corporation love what we’re doing in terms of technology for the future! The beautiful limited edition print by artist Kevin Clark features frogs which signifies good luck for business in Japan.

It was explained to us that the frog signifies good luck and good fortune in Japanese culture in two ways. Firstly the Japanese word for frog is Kaeru, which also means ‘to return’; therefore it symbolises a return on investment. Secondly in Japan’s agricultural economy, rice paddies flooded with water and full of frogs are a sign of a good harvest: an excellent symbol for a hydroponics business.

This week is certainly one of impromptu but exciting visits!
